Emergency Medicine Physician – Locum Tenens needed in OH and VA
We are seeking board-certified/board-eligible Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide locum tenens coverage across two hospital-based emergency departments in the Ohio–West Virginia region. These assignments offer flexible block scheduling, strong clinical support, and exposure to moderate-to-high acuity emergency medicine environments.
Facility Locations
Holzer Health System (Gallipolis, OH, USA) – Ohio sites in southeastern Ohio community hospital settings.
St. Mary’s Medical Center (SMC) – Huntington, West Virginia regional referral center with higher-acuity care.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide full-scope emergency department care
- Rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization of acute conditions
- Manage trauma and medical emergencies
- Coordinate with specialists and transfer centers
- Supervise APPs where applicable
- Complete EMR documentation
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine with EM experience
- Active US license or eligibility
- DEA certification
- ACLS/ATLS preferred
- Prior ED experience strongly preferred
Schedule & Structure
- Block scheduling available
- 12-hour shifts (day/night mix)
- Locum tenens assignment with flexibility
