CVOR (Open Heart) Registered Nurse — Newark, DE | Up to $50,000 Sign-On Bonus

Location: Newark, DE
Schedule: Full-time, primarily day shift (Mon–Fri) with open-heart call and occasional mid shifts
Sign-on Bonus: Up to $50,000 paid over 24 months for qualified CVOR candidates

Position summary:
Provide perioperative nursing care for open-heart/cardiovascular surgical procedures in a collaborative OR environment. Work as part of the open-heart team to support safe, efficient surgical care and optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare OR and equipment for cardiovascular/open-heart cases, including sterile setup and instrument checks
• Provide intraoperative circulator and/or scrub nursing care during complex cardiac procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs, manage instruments and supplies, and maintain sterile field
• Monitor patient status, communicate changes, and collaborate with anesthesia, perfusion, and surgical teams
• Coordinate turnover and room readiness between cases
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards
• Participate in team huddles, case planning, and performance improvement activities

Minimum qualifications:

• Current RN license (state of practice)
• Minimum 3 years operating room experience
• Prior cardiac open-heart/CVOR experience required

Preferred qualifications:

• BSN preferred (candidates without BSN may be considered if committed to obtaining BSN within 3 years)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment in high-acuity surgical settings
