Locum Tenens Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician — Call-Only (Clinton, NC; Jul 623, 2026)

We’re seeking an OB/GYN physician to provide locum tenens inpatient call coverage in Clinton, NC (28328). This is supplemental “call only” coverage with a beeper response time of 20 minutes. The agency covers travel (capped at $500), lodging, and malpractice insurance.

Coverage windows:

• July 6–8, 2026
• July 21–23, 2026

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries.
• Round on patients as required and perform emergent GYN procedures.
• Manage low-risk deliveries and stabilize higher-risk patients for transfer.
• Maintain proximity to the hospital (within 20 minutes) per bylaws.

Patient mix and volume:

• Case mix includes OB/GYN patients, emergent C-sections, and vaginal deliveries.
• Average daily volume varies.
• Rounding responsibilities include both antepartum and postpartum care.

Facility highlights:

• Level I nursery
• EMR: Meditech 6.1
• 24/7 on-call anesthesiology and radiology backup

Privileges and compliance:

• Temporary privileges available.
• Must be fully vaccinated.
• NC medical license required; provider must be enrolled in NC Medicaid and PECOS.

Procedures you should be able to perform (required):

• Low-risk pregnancy care and OB ultrasound performance/interpretation
• Routine and complicated vaginal deliveries (including low forceps, breech, multiple births, VBACs)
• Decision-making and performance of C-sections and management of abruptions
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
• Office/minor gynecology (IUDs, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
• Surgical gynecology: open cases and operative/major procedures (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive lysis of adhesions)
• Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, LOA’s)
• Laser certification

Preferred skills:

• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Level I (screening/viability) and Level II (targeted/anatomic) ultrasound skills

Requirements:

• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Licensed in North Carolina
• Actively delivering babies—must provide case logs for the past 24 months
