Clinical Effort: 80% Clinical / 20% Academic, GME, Administrative, and Program Development
AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a fellowship-trained Neuroimmunology Neurologist to join our growing academic neurology program. This position will support the expansion of comprehensive neurologic care across AdventHealth Tampa and the West Florida Division, with a focus on patients with multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder, MOG antibody disease, autoimmune encephalitis, transverse myelitis, neuro-sarcoidosis, and other inflammatory or immune-mediated neurologic disorders.
The physician will provide primarily outpatient subspecialty care while also participating in inpatient neurology consultation services as appropriate. The role includes collaboration with general neurology, epilepsy, vascular neurology, neurohospitalist services, radiology, infusion services, pharmacy, rehabilitation, and other multidisciplinary teams. The physician will help develop clinical pathways for evaluation, treatment, infusion coordination, specialty pharmacy workflows, long-term disease monitoring, and access to advanced therapies.
This position includes 80% clinical effort, with the remaining 20% dedicated to academic, GME, educational, administrative, and program-building responsibilities. The physician will play an important role in the development of the AdventHealth Tampa Neurology Residency Program, scheduled to begin in July 2027, and the resident general neurology clinic planned for July 2028.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outpatient neuroimmunology consultation and longitudinal care.
Evaluate and manage patients with MS and related inflammatory neurologic disorders.
Coordinate disease-modifying therapies, infusion services, specialty pharmacy needs, and safety monitoring protocols.
Participate in inpatient neurology consultation coverage as appropriate.
Develop neuroimmunology clinical pathways, referral workflows, and patient education resources.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve access, care coordination, and patient outcomes.
Participate in GME teaching, including resident didactics, case conferences, journal club, morning report, and faculty-led clinical teaching.
Precept neurology residents in the resident general neurology continuity clinic for one half-day per week.
Serve as a faculty mentor for residents interested in neuroimmunology, clinical research, quality improvement, or academic neurology.
Participate in Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, recruitment, resident advising, and other residency program activities as assigned.
Contribute to scholarly activity, quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and faculty development.
Optional leadership role as Neurology Research Director or Neurology Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Director, depending on candidate interest and program needs.
Support growth of the AdventHealth Tampa neuroscience service line and academic neurology program.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree.
Board eligible or board certified in Neurology.
Fellowship training in Neuroimmunology, Multiple Sclerosis, or a closely related field preferred.
Eligible for medical licensure in Florida.
Strong interest in resident education, academic program development, multidisciplinary care, and clinical program building.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care skills.
