Locum Tenens Board-Certified Anesthesiologist — Rhinelander, WI (Inpatient/Outpatient; CRNA Supervision, L&D & Trauma Experience)

We’re looking for a board-certified anesthesiologist to provide long-term locum tenens coverage in Rhinelander, WI (54501). You’ll work Monday–Friday with daytime shifts from 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and beeper call from 3:00 PM–7:00 AM on weekdays (20-minute response time). This is a clinical role covering inpatient and outpatient care starting June 7, 2026 and continuing while the facility conducts a permanent search. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are covered by the agency.

What you’ll see and do

• Average daily volume is about 15 patients with a varied case mix: labor & delivery (including C-sections and epidurals), interventional radiology, ICU procedures, radiology sedation/CT, ER trauma, and pre-op evaluations.
• Provide general anesthesia for adults and pediatrics, spinal and epidural anesthesia, regional blocks (including post-op extremity blocks), and post-op epidural management.
• Manage complex orthopedic cases and assist with trauma cases (preferred).
• Handle ventilation management and evaluation/management of acute volume and blood pressure issues.
• Perform procedural tasks: central line, arterial line, and PA catheter placement; use of x‑ray guidance for blocks is a plus.
• Supervise CRNAs and coordinate with PAs/NPs (typically 4–5 supporting staff per day).
• Participate in emergency medical response team activations and provide floor/ED support for IV starts, intubations, and regional blocks.

• Temporary hospital privileges available; permanent hospital privileges required (hospital privileges must be obtained).

Requirements & certifications

• Board-certified in Anesthesiology (BC required).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

• Shift: Mon–Fri 7a–3p; beeper call Mon–Fri 3p–7a with 20-minute response expectation.
