Locum Family NP Urgent Care (Sole Provider, Epic; Wilmington, NC; Pediatrics & Adults)

We’re seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide urgent outpatient care in Wilmington, NC (28405). This locum tenens role is ASAP with ongoing coverage to help provide extra clinical support at a busy center.

What you’ll be doing

• Serve as the sole provider in an urgent care setting, treating adults and pediatric patients aged 6 months and up.
• Manage a daily patient load averaging about 40 visits.
• Perform common minor procedures such as I&D, laceration repair, and ear irrigations.
• Chart and document all care in Epic.
• Work closely and positively with one MA and two office staff; strong communication and soft skills are essential.
• Complete mandatory Epic onboarding and training sessions (held on Wednesdays) before your first solo shift.

Who we’re looking for

• Board certified (BC required) Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Licensed to practice in North Carolina with a NC DEA registration.
• Minimum of 12 months of clinical experience; fellowship required.
• BLS required; DOT required; PALS/ACLS preferred.
• Local to the Wilmington/Leland area and able to act as the lone provider on shift.
• Comfortable and proficient with Epic EMR.

Logistics & support

• Setting: Outpatient urgent care.
• Coverage type: Clinical only.
• Travel/lodging: Mileage reimbursement up to 60 miles.
• Malpractice: Covered by the agency.
• No hospital privileges or temporary privileges required.
