Join a hospital-based OB/GYN team in Durant, OK (74701) providing locum tenens call coverage (beeper) for inpatient and outpatient services. Coverage is ASAP – ongoing with a 1:2 call ratio and a 30-minute response time. Agency provides travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage. Temporary hospital privileges available.

Clinical scope and volume

• Average daily patients: 5; admissions: 1; rounding: inpatient and outpatient; phone consults: ~3/day.
• EMR: Cerner and Athena.
• Support staff: 2 RNs and 2 office staff.

Required competencies and procedures

• Routine and complicated obstetrics: spontaneous vaginal delivery, C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions.
• Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations.

Preferred skills (highly desirable)

• Management of low- and high-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE).
• OB ultrasound performance and interpretation (Level I screening/viability; Level II targeted/anatomic).
• Amniocentesis, low forceps, VBACs, decision-making for C-section, complicated deliveries.
• Office/minor gynecology: IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP.
• Surgical gynecology: open and laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures (tubal ligation, LOA), operative/major procedures (ectopic pregnancy management, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOA).
• Laser certification is a plus.

Requirements

• Board: BC eligible.
• Oklahoma medical license required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, ABLS.
• Fellowship: required.

Primary responsibilities

• Provide on-call OB/GYN coverage, respond within 30 minutes.
• Manage routine and complex deliveries, including C-sections and breech births.
• Admit and round on patients in both settings and handle departmental phone consultations.
• Collaborate with nursing and office staff to maintain quality care and documentation.
