Join a Pathology team in Robbinsdale, MN to provide inpatient coverage on a locum tenens basis. This is supplemental clinical coverage with ongoing dates starting Aug 10, 2026. Typical shift runs 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with a call responsibility every 7 days (1:7 call ratio); exact night-call schedule TBD. Blood bank night call is included.

What you’ll be doing

  • Interpret a broad surgical pathology and subspecialty case mix: GI, GU, neuropathology, dermatopathology, and hematopathology (bone marrow and lymph nodes).
  • Perform cytology, rapid adequacy assessment for image-guided biopsies, interpretation of bone marrow aspirates/biopsies.
  • Cover routine laboratory areas as needed: hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, and blood bank.
  • Expect to read roughly 80–100 cases per day across a patient volume of about 40 inpatients. Phone consults and rounding as required.

Team and resources

  • You’ll join a group practice of six pathologists.
  • On-site support: 5 histotechnicians, 1 pathology assistant, 1 cytotechnologist.
  • Equipment includes Leica cryostat and Olympus BX40 microscopes.
  • Trauma Level I facility using Epic EMR.

Logistics and support

  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
  • Coverage type: clinical plus call.
  • This is an inpatient service setting.

Requirements

  • Board certified (BC) in pathology.
  • Active Minnesota medical license or willingness to obtain one.
  • NPDB report required.
