Join a Gardendale, AL healthcare team as a contracted Licensed Practical Nurse for a 9-week assignment starting ASAP. This non-travel position follows a consistent evening shift schedule (02:30 PM–11:00 PM, Sun–Sat) and pays $932 per 40-hour week.
Requirements:
- Active, valid LPN license for the state of Alabama
- BLS certification
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Accurately administer and document medications and treatments, observe for adverse reactions, and maintain secure medication handling and disposal.
- Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and incisions for complications or infection.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and ensure proper labeling and handling for lab testing.
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records documenting condition changes, interventions, and outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
- Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort, pain management, and other activities to promote patient safety and well‑being.
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
- Follow infection control standards, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated care; may supervise CNAs or UAPs as assigned.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with nursing best practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
