LPN/LVN Long-Term Care (Belen, NM) | 8-Week Contract, $914/36-hr, Day Shifts

Join our team as a Licensed Practical Nurse on an 8-week contract in Belen, NM. This non-travel position starts ASAP and follows a Sun/Mon/Sat schedule, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM. Compensation: Local rate $914/36 hours.

Required:

• Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and vital sign monitoring.
• Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer and monitor medications and treatments, ensuring accurate dosing and protocol adherence.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for signs of infection or complications.
• Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters; collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, treatments, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management needs.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
• Stay current with nursing best practices through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
