Rate: Local: $1,116 / 36 hours
Required qualifications
- Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Core responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, IV care, vital signs, and patient assessments.
- Perform physical assessments, obtain medical histories and medication reconciliations to support individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, following orders and protocols.
- Manage wounds: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records.
- Insert, monitor and maintain IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids per policy.
- Care for urinary catheters: insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
- Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management.
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control procedures and proper PPE use.
- Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs.
- Supervise CNAs or UAPs when assigned.
- Maintain professional development and comply with current nursing standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
