Travel LPN/LVN - Night Shift (14-week Contract) — Long Term Care, Elkins WV

Join our team in Elkins, WV as a Licensed Practical Nurse on a 14-week contract starting ASAP. This is a night shift position (07:00 PM–07:00 AM). Pay: Travel rate $1,523/36 hrs; Local rate $1,174/36 hrs.

What we need from you

• Active, valid LPN license for the state.
• Current BLS certification.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Typical duties include medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter care, vital sign monitoring, and collecting specimens for lab testing. You’ll perform focused assessments, document changes in condition, and help develop and follow individualized care plans.

You’ll also:

• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for infection or complications.
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) consistently.
• Start, monitor, and maintain IVs and IV medications when required.
• Insert and care for urinary catheters and watch for problems.
• Collect blood, urine, sputum, and other samples for testing.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Provide comfort measures, mobility assistance, and pain management.
• Respond quickly during emergencies, providing BLS and following protocols.
• Follow infection control practices and use PPE appropriately.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and according to regulations.
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to ensure coordinated care.
• At times you may supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Stay up to date with nursing best practices through ongoing education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
