Location: Camden, ME | Type: Contract/Travel | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks | Schedule: 06:45 AM–07:15 PM | Rate: Travel: $1,436/36-hours

Overview:
Seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for a 13-week contract in Camden, Maine. The LPN will provide hands-on nursing care, support the interdisciplinary team, and ensure safe, patient-centered treatment in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the practicing state
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care planning
  • Safely administer prescribed medications, IV fluids/medications, and monitor IV sites
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and document wound status; monitor for infection or complications
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs and patient condition changes
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and ensure proper handling
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion assistance, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to promote wellness
  • Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management
  • Respond to emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support as needed
  • Follow infection control procedures and proper use of PPE
  • Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies per regulations
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and coordinate care with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when delegated, as applicable
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care, treatments, and patient responses
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with nursing best practices
  • Other duties as assigned by management
