Rate: Local $1,192 / 40 hours
Required credentials:
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- BLS certification
Core responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine assessments.
- Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and participate in care plan implementation.
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; ensure correct dosing and documentation.
- Manage wounds/incisions: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line insertion and function.
- Provide catheter care: insertion, maintenance, and complication monitoring.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
- Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
- Attend to patient comfort, mobility assistance, positioning, and pain management.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
- Follow infection control protocols and proper use of PPE.
- Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
- Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and assist with health assessments.
- Advocate for patient rights and needs.
- Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
