Overview:
Seeking a board-certified gastroenterologist for locum tenens inpatient consult coverage at a Level I trauma center in Lakewood, CO. Coverage is supplemental, call-only, and ongoing with immediate start.

Assignment details:

• Setting: Inpatient consult service (GI does not admit)
• Coverage type: Call-only (7 a.m.–7 a.m.)
• Typical call frequency: 5–7 days/month
• Callback expectations: 11.5 hours weekdays; 10 hours weekends
• Coverage period: ASAP – ongoing (see specific blocks below)

Clinical scope and volume:

• Patient population: Adolescents through geriatrics (patients as young as ~15 years and 50 kg for pediatric trauma consults)
• Typical patient volume: 8–10 new and follow-up consults per shift
• Daily procedures: 5–8 scopes on average
• Procedures and responsibilities: endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, GI bleed management, evaluation of acute GI problems, consultative care for trauma patients

Facility and support:

• Level I trauma center with 24/7 trauma service
• 24/7 intensivists and hospitalists on site
• EMR: Epic
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Requirements:

• Active Colorado medical license or participation in IMLC
• Board certified (BC) in Gastroenterology
• DEA registration
• Completed fellowship
• Clean NPDB record
• Local/drive-in candidates highly preferred
