Join a 9-week contract in Gardendale, AL as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Start ASAP. Schedule: 02:30 PM–11:00 PM, seven days a week (Sun–Sat). Travel rate: $1,196/40 hrs; Local rate: $932/40 hrs.
Requirements:
- Active, valid LPN license for the practicing state
- BLS certification
Core responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Administer prescribed treatments and IV medications/fluids, ensuring correct dosing, line integrity, and documentation.
- Manage wounds and urinary catheters—perform dressing changes, monitor for infection, and address complications.
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and maintain accurate, timely charting of patient status and interventions.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
- Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management, and basic life support in emergencies.
- Follow infection control practices, proper PPE use, and safe handling/disposal of medications and supplies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
- May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
- Maintain professional competence through continuing education and perform other duties as directed by management.
