Travel LPN (Long-Term Care) — Night Shift, Bloomfield NM (10-week Contract)

Join a team in Bloomfield, NM for a 10-week contract starting ASAP. This is a travel LPN opportunity working nights (Thu–Sat, 5:00 PM–5:00 AM) with a pay rate of $1,318 for a 36-hour week.

What we’re looking for:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll do:

• Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction—medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and more.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) to help develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, accurately, and according to protocol.
• Clean, dress, and monitor wounds, watching for signs of infection or complications.
• Routinely assess and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and any changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including treatments given and medications administered.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Start, monitor, and manage IVs and IV medications where required.
• Provide catheter care—placement, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Work closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
• Assist with patient comfort and safety—positioning, mobility support, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies following facility protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow strict infection control practices and appropriately handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
• Support preventive care efforts like vaccinations and screenings, and advocate for patients’ rights and needs.
• Occasionally supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure quality care.
• Stay current with nursing practices and participate in ongoing training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
