Contract/Travel LPN position in Santa Fe, NM — Start: ASAP — Duration: 14 weeks
Schedule: Tue–Thu, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM (36 hours) — Rate: $1,318/36-hours

Requirements

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license.
• BLS certification.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician supervision: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine treatments.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and IV meds/fluids; monitor IV sites and document accurately.
• Manage wounds and incisions: cleaning, dressing, monitoring for infection/complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
• Collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Provide catheter care: insertion (as permitted by scope), maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
• Promote patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
• Follow infection control policies, PPE use, and safe medication/supply handling and disposal.
• Document care and handoffs clearly in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.
• Maintain continuing education and adhere to current nursing standards and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
