Job Description
We are seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to staff a brand-new Freestanding Emergency Department in Hendersonville, TN. This is a long-term, flexible assignment in a modern, efficient ED with strong clinical support and streamlined workflows.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM days; 7:00 PM–7:00 AM nights)
- Mix of morning, mid, and night shifts
- Weekends and nights required; no on-call duties
- Assignment length: 1 year+ (ASAP start)
Compensation & Support
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with ED experience
- 100% travel reimbursement (flights, hotel, rental car, mileage, tolls, parking)
- Dedicated 24/7 locums consultant for credentialing, scheduling, and ongoing support
- Two-day orientation (shadowing and EMR training)
- Nursing, tech, and APP support on every shift
Practice Setting
- Newly built Freestanding Emergency Department designed for rapid evaluation, stabilization, and transfer
- Efficient, patient-centered workflows and a collaborative team environment
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute illness and injury
- Perform standard ED procedures and stabilize higher-acuity patients
- Order and interpret diagnostics (labs, imaging, EKGs)
- Coordinate transfers when necessary and maintain timely, accurate documentation
Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABEM preferred); IM or FM physicians with ED experience will be considered
- New graduates welcome
- Active Tennessee medical license or ability to obtain one
- Comfortable performing standard emergency procedures
