Join a Level I trauma center in Hershey, PA, on a locum tenens basis providing outpatient anesthesia coverage. This opportunity runs ASAP through Dec 31, 2026, working four 10-hour shifts per week. Typical weekly schedule includes Monday–Wednesday and a Thursday 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. shift, plus Friday 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered by the agency. Coverage is clinical only and intended as supplemental support.

Who you’ll be treating

• Adult and pediatric patients (ages 5 and up)
• Case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics (including complex cases), trauma, plastics, neurosurgery (head and spine), thoracic cases (non–open heart), endoscopy/NORA, robotic surgery, gynecology, and ENT
• No obstetrics, cardiac surgery, or regional blocks expected

What the facility and workflow are like

• Level I trauma center with a Cerner EMR
• Fast-paced, diverse operative caseload requiring strong perioperative decision-making and airway/ventilation management

Procedures and responsibilities you’ll be expected to perform

• Evaluate and prepare patients for anesthesia: pre-anesthetic assessment, H&P, informed consent, post-op assessment
• Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans
• Manage intraoperative ventilation and acute hemodynamic/volume issues
• Place and manage invasive monitors and lines (arterial lines, central lines/CVC/CVP; pulmonary artery catheterization as needed)
• Care for neurosurgical (head and spine) and thoracic cases (excluding open heart)

Qualifications

• Board-certified (BC) required
• PA state licensure
• BLS, ACLS, PALS current
• Minimum one year of CRNA experience
