Service Setting: Adult ICU / Critical Care
Dates: 07/01/2026 – 12/31/2026
Schedule: Nights, full-time; 3 × 12‑hour shifts weekly, 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Patient Population and Case Mix

  • Adult critically ill ICU patients
  • Typical census: ~10–15 patients per APP
  • Admissions and rounding required
  • High‑acuity critical care cases

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage and stabilize critically ill ICU patients
  • Admit and co-manage patients with attending physicians
  • Perform ongoing assessments, execute care plans, and intervene as needed
  • Enter orders and complete documentation in Cerner EMR
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate with ICU nursing staff

Required Skills & Procedures

  • Proficiency in ICU management and stabilization
  • Central line and arterial line insertions
  • Competent in other ICU procedures as required

Qualifications

  • Active national and state licensure required
  • Acute Care NP certification required for NP candidates (ACNP or equivalent) or PA certification for PAs
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ ICU APP experience
  • Active DEA preferred
  • Local candidates preferred

Facility & Support

  • EMR: Cerner
  • Standard ICU equipment and nursing support available
  • Specialty backup: attending physicians and multidisciplinary ICU team
  • Hospital privileges required
