Seeking a board-certified Hematology/Oncology physician for locum tenens coverage at Bassett Medical Center – Physician Services in Cooperstown, NY. Coverage begins June 1, 2026 and continues on an ongoing basis. Position requires three outpatient shifts per week, with travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided.

Clinical scope and volume

• Outpatient practice managing approximately 12–15 patients per day
• Case mix roughly 80% oncology and 20% hematology (benign and malignant)
• Bone marrow procedures preferred

Facility and support

• EPIC electronic medical record
• Support from one on-site nurse practitioner and nursing staff

Credentials and compliance

• Board certification in Hematology/Oncology required
• Active New York State medical license required
• Credentialing timeframe approximately 120 days; temporary privileges are not available
• Required immunizations: up-to-date immunization record, flu vaccine or documented declination, and negative TB test or QuantiFERON Gold within one year of start

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care within scope of practice
• Collaborate closely with the onsite nurse practitioner and clinical team to manage patient care and procedures
