  • Support staff: APPs and residents; fast track staffed by MD or APP
  • 24-hour services: Radiology, Laboratory, OR, Anesthesia
  • Other services: Blood Bank, Pathology, Neuro, Ortho
  • NICU, ACLS, and transport team available; no air ambulance
  • EMR: Epic

Clinical scope & responsibilities:

  • Provide pediatric emergency care; supervise APPs and residents
  • Monitor and supervise paramedics and ambulance communications by radio
  • ED physicians write admission orders only; on-duty admission residents write care orders
  • Initial EKG interpretations by ED MD, then reviewed by cardiologists
  • Deliveries are not received in the ED

Specialty backup available:

  • Radiology, Critical Care Intensivist, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urology, Hematology/Oncology, Psychiatry

Requirements:

  • Board-certified (BC) in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
  • Active Ohio license or willingness to obtain
  • BLS, ATLS, PALS
  • Local candidates preferred
