Community Information
Known as "The Heart of Georgia," Macon sits about 85 miles south of Atlanta — close enough to enjoy everything the city has to offer, while living at a pace that's genuinely your own. The city carries serious cultural weight as the birthplace of Little Richard and Otis Redding and the longtime home of the Allman Brothers Band, with a thriving downtown dining and arts scene to match. Each spring, over 300,000 Yoshino cherry trees bloom across the city during the International Cherry Blossom Festival, one of the largest events of its kind in the country. For outdoor recreation, Amerson River Park, Lake Tobesofkee, and Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park are all within easy reach. Macon is a city with real roots, a strong sense of community, and a quality of life that's hard to replicate.
