Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.
UT Tyler School of Medicine - UT Health East Texas is searching for a full-time Faculty BE/BC OB/GYN physician to join the established clinic in Athens, TX.
About the Position:
- Current team is 1 OBG; 9 Family Practitioners also practicing OB
- Market calls for 1,000 deliveries annually
- DaVinci GYN surgery available
- Excellent communication skills, bilingual (preferred)
- Team oriented and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a growing academic environment
- 20-25 patients per day
- Monday-Thursday FT--Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- 50% Outpatient/ 50% Inpatient
- A 15-bed, Level I nursery, if needed
- A dedicated surgery suite for cesarean sections
- Eight private postpartum rooms
- Epidural pain management
- Interpreters and/or language access services
- Lactation education
- Live online birthing classes
- Nine large labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) rooms
- Smart Technology: See more patients without extending your day. Our providers use Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding—leading to better work-life balance and revenue.

About UT Tyler School of Medicine:
The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
