Join a busy Level II Trauma Center in Bristol, Tennessee, as a locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician covering clinical shifts in the hospital’s emergency department. This role begins 08/20/2026 and is ongoing, supporting roughly 47,000 annual visits across pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The ED supports about 38 physician coverage hours daily and has APP coverage of 33 hours per day.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide full-spectrum emergency care: initial evaluation, stabilization, procedures, and ongoing treatment for patients of all ages.
• Manage airways and perform emergency procedures as needed.
• Supervise and collaborate with NP and PA colleagues.
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and maintain required credentialing, CME, and immunizations.

The department and resources

• 342 hospital beds; Level II Trauma Center.
• Specialty backup available for pediatric and adult cases.
• Standard ED equipment and Epic EMR in use.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license.
• Board certification through ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, or AOA.
• Active DEA with a Tennessee address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5.
• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not ABEM-certified; NRP required for non-ABEM providers.
• New EM residency graduates from the past 12 months are welcome.
• ECFMG certification required for international medical graduates.
