Schedule and Coverage

• Regular on-site clinical shifts: 10-hour (may vary to 8–9 hours)
• Night call: beeper; weeknights; call response time 20 minutes
• Call-back expected for ~20% of pages; call ratio 1:4
• Phone consults: 4–6 per shift
• Admissions while on service: 1–3 per shift
• Patient volume: 13–18 patients
• Rounding: Yes
• Coverage type: Clinical + call

Clinical Setting & Support

• Service: Consulting cardiology; hospitalists manage most admits
• Department beds: 20
• Trauma level: II
• EMR: Epic
• Support staff: 6 RNs, 1 APP, 4 MAs
  • APP scheduled on-site Mon–Mon to assist with daily workload and documentation

Duties

• Provide on-site clinical care during daytime shifts
• Carry pager for night call; respond to emergencies and perform in-person callbacks as required
• Perform inpatient cardiology consults and procedures as needed

Required Procedures / Competencies

• Inpatient cardiology (ICU)
• Non-invasive echocardiography

Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiology
• Active Idaho medical license or participation in IMLC
• Fellowship completed
• BLS, ACLS, ABLS
