Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures

• Outpatient clinic coverage and inpatient/L&D management
• Support and triage complex cases with APPs and midwives
• Manage labor & delivery, including high-risk obstetrics and emergent cases from ED
• Perform and flex to OR for OB/GYN surgeries
• Typical procedures:
  • Low- and high-risk pregnancy management
  • FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
  • OB ultrasound performance/interpretation
  • Routine vaginal delivery, low forceps, breech, multiple births, VBACs
  • C-sections and complicated deliveries (e.g., abruptions)
  • Repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations
  • Emergency surgeries: hysterectomy, ectopic management, D&C, ovarian cystectomy, exploratory laparotomy
  • Office/minor gynecology: IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP
  • Open and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery (diagnostic/minor to major/operative)

Qualifications

• Washington medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Active DEA registration
• BLS required
• Minimum 3 years OB/GYN experience (2+ years plus fellowship considered)
• Ability to mentor and advise new graduates and APPs

• Expected to mentor/advisory support for new graduate providers and APPs
• Handle emergent surgical OB/GYN cases from ED as needed
