Job Description
Grass Valley, CA — Locum tenens opportunity covering inpatient OB/GYN services at a hospital with a dedicated Family Birthing Center and an L&D floor that includes its own OR for C‑sections. Coverage is supplemental due to cancellations and maternity leave. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
Schedule and Coverage
- Coverage type: Call only (24‑hr call; 7a–7a)
- Coverage period: Begins Jun 1 – ongoing
- Specific shifts to fill:
- Jun 1–3 (7a), Jun 23–26 (7a)
- Jul 18–26 (7a)
- Aug 6 (7p start)–8 (7a), Aug 12–15 (7a)
- Average deliveries: 23–30 per month
Clinical Responsibilities
- Inpatient OB/GYN duties including deliveries, C‑sections, and ED call coverage
- Backup support: on‑call anesthesiologist (after hours/weekends for OR & FBC), general surgeons, three local OBGYNs, one family medicine OB, on‑call pediatrician, and experienced respiratory therapists
- EMR: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Active California medical license
- Board certified or board eligible (ABOG/AOBOG). If board eligible, must be within 5 years
- DEA registration
- Completion of an ACGME- or AOA‑accredited OBGYN residency
- Performed at least 100 gynecologic surgical procedures in the past 2 years or completed a relevant fellowship
- Self‑query NPDB report obtained within the last 30 days
