Job Description
We’re seeking a Gastroenterology locum tenens to join a Spokane, WA team on an ongoing supplemental coverage basis starting August 3. You’ll work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., covering a minimum of 14 shifts per month (typically at least two weeks per month; preference for a 2-on/2-off rhythm). This role is clinical only and covers both inpatient and outpatient adult care.
What your typical day looks like
- Patient volume averages about five adult patients per day.
- You’ll be supported by a strong clinic and procedural team: 2 PAs/NPs, 1 RN, 2 MAs, and 8 office staff.
- EMR system: Epic.
- Hospital is stroke-certified and operates at Trauma Level II.
Procedures and responsibilities
- Upper GI endoscopy: diagnostic/biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeders (cautery/laser).
- ERCP: diagnostic.
- Esophageal dilatation and manometry, including interpretation.
- Small bowel biopsy.
- Lower GI procedures: sigmoidoscopy (rigid & flexible), colonoscopy (with biopsy and polypectomy).
Logistics and support
- Hospital privileges are required.
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance will be covered by the client.
Provider requirements
- Completion of GI fellowship required.
- Board certified (BC) in Gastroenterology.
- Active Washington medical license or participation in the IMLC.
- Current BLS and ACLS.
