Coverage: Clinical + call; supplemental solo physician coverage
Coverage Period: July 3, 2026 – July 25, 2026 (potential extension)
Schedule
- Clinic/OR: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (subject to OR and clinic schedule)
- On-call: 1–3 calls/week; weekend call 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
- Call duties: post-operative coverage and patient management
- Schedule type: flexible
Patient Population & Case Mix
- Adults and geriatrics; ~16–18 patients/day
- Admissions and inpatient care required
- Bread-and-butter vascular cases, endovascular procedures, hybrid room cases
- No open AAA cases required
- Phone consults and weekend rounding as needed based on census
Facility & Support
- Hospital EMR: Meditech; Clinic EMR: eClinicalWorks
- Support staff: 2 APPs
- Physician coverage: solo (locum provides supplemental coverage)
Privileges & Credentialing
- Hospital privileges required; temporary/expedited privileges available
- Expedited credentialing offered
- Requirements: active New York State medical license; clean background for expedited privileges
Compensation & Logistics
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance: covered
Required Procedures & Clinical Scope
- Full-spectrum vascular surgery
- Endovascular procedures and hybrid room procedures
- Post-operative vascular management
- No open AAA procedures expected
Qualifications
- MD required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible within 2 years
- ABS in Vascular Surgery or SVS required; ABVLM preferred
- Active NY State medical license required
- ACLS certification required
- Prior vascular surgery and endovascular experience required
- Telehealth experience not required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient vascular surgical care
- Perform vascular and endovascular procedures
- Manage post-operative care and complications
- Participate in call and weekend coverage as scheduled
- Collaborate with APPs and multidisciplinary teams
- Document encounters and procedures in Meditech and eClinicalWorks
