Neighborhoods like Midtown, Corktown, and Royal Oak offer distinct personalities and genuinely affordable housing compared to most major metro markets, making it an easy place to put down roots. The broader metro area provides strong public and private school options, and proximity to the Great Lakes means outdoor recreation is never far away. For physicians who want the energy of a major city without the cost of living to match, Detroit consistently delivers.
