Job Title: Pathologists’ Assistant
Location: Jackson, Michigan (USA)
Duration: 8 weeks (07/06/2026 – 09/04/2026)
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (40 hrs/week, OT after 40)
Pay Rate: $82–$85/hour
Job Summary
Pathologists’ Assistant supports the Anatomic Pathology team under a supervising Pathologist. Responsible for surgical specimen dissection, autopsy assistance, and accurate specimen processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic analysis (frozen/permanent sections)
- Accession and verify specimen identification
- Assist in autopsy procedures and documentation
- Support resident training and competency checks
- Maintain QA/QC compliance and lab standards
- Gross photography and record maintenance
- Tumor procurement for biorepository
- Lab inventory management and supply ordering
- Proper disposal of processed specimens
Required Qualifications
- BSc degree (accredited university)
- NAACLS Pathologists’ Assistant program completion OR PA (ASCP) certification
- BLS certification
