LPN/LVN - Contract Long Term Care (Bloomfield, NM) - Nights, 9-Week Assignment

We’re seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join a care team in Bloomfield, NM for a 9-week contract. This is a local (non-travel) position that starts ASAP and offers a competitive rate of $1,145 for a 36-hour week. Schedule: Sunday, Friday, and Saturday, 5:00 PM–5:30 AM.

What you’ll do:

• Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and assist in developing individualized care plans.
• Administer and document medications and treatments accurately, following protocols for dosing and safety.
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds, watching for signs of infection or complications.
• Monitor, record, and report vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and other changes in condition.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab work and document results or concerns.
• Manage urinary catheters, including insertion/maintenance and monitoring for issues.
• Provide basic IV care: insertion oversight, maintenance, medication/fluid administration, and line monitoring.
• Support patient comfort and safety with positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support when needed.
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and follow infection control practices, including proper PPE use and hand hygiene.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
• Collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
• When applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to help deliver high-quality care.
• Stay current through ongoing education and complete other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum requirements:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
• Current BLS certification
