Schedule: Saturday & Sunday, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM | Rate: $610/24-hrs (local)

Overview:
Seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide hands-on patient care in Albuquerque. This contract role emphasizes safe, compassionate nursing under RN/physician direction, thorough documentation, and teamwork to support high-quality outcomes.

Required:

  • Active LPN license in the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Conduct focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and participate in individualized care planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration and patient response.
  • Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for complications or infection.
  • Insert, manage, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters, recognizing and escalating issues as needed.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and ensure proper handling.
  • Maintain precise, timely patient records of condition changes, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Promote infection control, safe handling and disposal of medications/supplies, and adherence to PPE practices.
  • Provide comfort measures, assist with mobility/positioning, and support pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support when necessary.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned.
  • Support preventive care initiatives (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and a team-oriented approach to deliver safe, patient-centered care.
