Assignment Type & Schedule
- Locum tenens, inpatient clinical + call
- Coverage period: Jul 16, 2026 – ongoing
- Specific coverage blocks: Jul 16–Aug 10, 2026 and Aug 19–Aug 28, 2026
- Shift schedule: 4 shifts/week, 08:00–18:00
- On-call: overnight beeper; response time 20 minutes; call ratio TBD
Clinical Scope
- Provide Emergency Department coverage and outpatient/primary care services in a rural critical access setting
- Admit patients and coordinate hospital-level care
- Manage obstetric cases and perform C-sections in emergency situations as needed
- Arrange transfers to higher levels of care and provide phone consults
Patient & Facility Details
- Average daily ED volume: ~4 patients/day
- EMR: Epic
- Support staff: 3 RNs, 1 MA, 2 office staff
- Temporary hospital privileges available; hospital privileges not required
Requirements
- Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (BC required)
- Active DEA registration
- Universal License (IMLC)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NRP
- Preferred: rural health experience (ED, hospitalist, OB)

- Reason for coverage: supplemental
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered by agency
Duties Summary
- Provide full ED clinical care, inpatient admissions, outpatient visits as required
- Participate in overnight beeper call rotations and respond within 20 minutes
- Manage emergent OB cases, coordinate transfers, and document in Epic
