Overview:
Join a patient-focused team providing skilled nursing care in Tuscumbia. This contract LPN role supports RNs and physicians by delivering direct bedside care, monitoring patient status, and promoting safety and comfort.

Required:

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
• BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring
• Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans
• Accurately administer prescribed medications and treatments; monitor for adverse effects
• Evaluate, clean, dress, and manage wounds while monitoring for infection or complications
• Perform and document routine vital signs and changes in patient condition
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and document results per protocol
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
• Support patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
• Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated care
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable
• Maintain professional development by keeping current with nursing best practices and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
