Locum Tenens Physician (Internal Medicine/Family Medicine) — Medical Director, Correctional/Long-Term Care — Fox Lake, WI

We’re seeking a dedicated physician to cover a 13-week locum tenens assignment in Fox Lake, WI, starting ASAP. This role is daytime (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) and pays $155/hr.

Who we’re looking for

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• Prior correctional healthcare experience is strongly preferred
• Experience with older adults who have multiple co-morbidities
• Long-term care or chronic care management experience is a plus
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical judgment skills

What you’ll do

• Provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for healthcare services at the facility
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Ensure the facility meets state, federal, and correctional healthcare regulations
• Supervise, mentor, and support physicians and advanced practice providers
• Manage and review complex medical cases, particularly chronic disease and long-term care needs
• Work closely with nursing, mental health, administrative, and security teams to coordinate care
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and performance improvement activities
• Address clinical risk management, utilization review, and medical grievances as needed
