Locum Tenens Physician (Internal Medicine/Family Medicine) — Medical Director, Correctional/Long-Term Care — Waupun, WI

We’re seeking a dedicated physician to join a team in Waupun, WI for a 26-week locum tenens assignment starting ASAP. You’ll work weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing clinical leadership across the facility. Compensation is $155/hour.

What we’re looking for

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license
• Correctional healthcare experience is strongly preferred
• Experience caring for older adults with multiple comorbidities; long-term or chronic care management experience is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills

What you’ll do

• Lead and oversee all medical services at the facility, providing hands-on clinical direction
• Develop, implement, and monitor clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and correctional healthcare regulations
• Supervise, mentor, and support physicians and advanced practice providers
• Manage complex cases involving chronic disease and long-term care needs
• Work closely with nursing, mental health, administrative, and security staff to coordinate care
• Participate in quality assurance, peer review, performance improvement, utilization review, and grievance resolution
