Join a busy thoracic surgery team in Minneapolis, MN, providing advanced surgical care for adult patients with thoracic malignancies and related chest diseases. This locum tenens role is hospital-based and includes both clinical work and shared on-call responsibilities. The typical week is structured as two clinic days, two surgery/procedure days, and one flexible day for administrative tasks or surgical overflow (40 hours/week). Overnight and weekend call is required as part of the group’s rotating coverage.

You’ll manage patients with lung, chest wall, mediastinal, and pleural disease, performing a full spectrum of thoracic procedures including minimally invasive approaches, VATS, robotic surgery, advanced bronchoscopy, and endoscopic interventions for the lungs and esophagus. You’ll work closely with PAs, a nurse navigator, clinic RNs, and a provider coordinator to deliver coordinated care.

Requirements: Minnesota medical license or participation in the IMLC, DEA registration, ACLS and BLS (Tier 2), board certification in Thoracic Surgery or Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery, and a minimum of two years’ experience. Preference is given to candidates who’ve completed a Thoracic Oncology Fellowship and who have at least two years of focused experience in thoracic malignancy and robotic surgery. Credentialing typically takes 90–120 days.
