Locum Tenens Critical Care Physician (ICU) — Washington, MO; 12-hr Days, 510 Shifts/Month

We’re seeking a board-certified critical care physician to provide inpatient ICU coverage in Washington, Missouri. This is a locum tenens role starting July 27, 2026 and continuing ongoing, with 12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.), 5–10 shifts per month. You’ll serve as second call/backup with a 60-minute response expectation.

What you’ll do

• Provide comprehensive critical care for your assigned ICU patients (average census 12–16/day).
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamics, and other complex ICU issues.
• Perform procedures commonly needed in the unit, including central line and arterial line placement and endotracheal intubation.
• Collaborate closely with PAs/NPs (1 am, 1 pm) and on-call backup.
• Document encounters and orders in Epic accurately and promptly.

Who we’re looking for

• Board-certified in Internal Medicine/Critical Care.
• Licensed in Missouri or eligible via the IMLC universal license.
• Current BLS and ATLS certifications. Fellowship training in critical care is preferred.

• Inpatient ICU setting using Epic EMR.
• Temporary or hospital privileges are not provided.
• The locum agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance.
• Reason for coverage: department restructuring/vacancy.
