Job Description
Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule and Setting
- Hospital-based inpatient cardiology service
- 12-hour day shifts, primarily daytime coverage
- Coverage needed 7 days/week
- EMR: Cerner
Core Responsibilities
- Round daily on patients admitted to or seen in consultation on the general cardiology service
- Manage step-down and cardiology unit patients
- Complete clinical documentation: daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&P, new consult notes, discharge summaries
- Order medications, diagnostic tests, and procedures as indicated
- Perform new patient consults in collaboration with attending physicians
- Coordinate care with cardiologists, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Procedures
- Perform bedside ICU procedures as needed, including arterial line and central line placement and cardioversion
Requirements
- Experienced cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Active North Carolina state license
- Active North Carolina DEA
- Strong inpatient cardiology experience preferred
- Comfortable performing bedside ICU procedures
