Locums Urology Physician – 24-Hour Hospital & ED Call Coverage (Salem, VA)

We are seeking an experienced locum urology physician to provide 24-hour hospital and emergency department call coverage in Salem, Virginia. This role requires prompt response to inpatient and ED consults, performance of urgent urologic procedures, and timely documentation in the facility EMR.

Assignment details

• Schedule: 24-hour call coverage
• Patient volume: ~28 patients per day
• Patient population: Adults
• Call response time: 20 minutes
• EMR: Facility-provided electronic charting/dictation

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous urology call coverage, managing inpatient and ED consults
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and urgent urologic conditions
• Perform necessary urologic procedures and interventions
• Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, and specialists to coordinate care
• Accurately document encounters and clinical decisions in the EMR

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in Urology
• Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license
• DEA registration and CSR required
• Current BCLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
