Locum Tenens Remote Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) — Pediatric/Adolescent Telehealth, NJ

We are hiring a compassionate, experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for a fully remote locum tenens role serving children, adolescents, and young adults. This position emphasizes evidence-based care delivered through a collaborative virtual practice and suits clinicians who value flexibility, autonomy, and meaningful patient outcomes.

This is a 1099 contract position for clinicians comfortable practicing independently while contributing to a mission-driven team.

Schedule

• Minimum 10 hours per week
• Availability during peak demand: after 3:00 PM ET on weekdays and/or flexible weekend availability

Core responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations and follow-up assessments via telehealth
• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions in pediatric and young adult populations (ages 2+)
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Maintain timely, accurate EHR documentation
• Coordinate care with clinical and administrative teams to ensure continuity

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey PMHNP/APN/CRNP license
• DEA registration and prescriptive authority
• Minimum 2 years of independent psychiatric practice experience
• Demonstrated experience treating pediatric populations (ages 2+)
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms, EHRs, and digital clinical tools
• Reliable computer, phone, and high-speed internet
