Job Description
Brown University Health seeks a Glaucoma specialist to join its Ophthalmology department in Providence, RI. This position combines outpatient and surgical glaucoma care within an academically affiliated health system and referral network.
Position highlights
- Join a team of 12 ophthalmology providers delivering primary and specialty eye care.
- Provide medical and surgical management of glaucoma in clinic and the OR.
- Operate at two fully equipped surgical centers: Providence, RI and Attleboro, MA.
Clinical responsibilities
- Manage a full spectrum of glaucoma patients (diagnosis, medical therapy, surgical intervention).
- Perform glaucoma surgeries and related procedures.
- Coordinate care with referring providers and the ophthalmology team.
- Participate in quality improvement and departmental clinical initiatives.
Academic responsibilities
- Teach and mentor ophthalmology residents and Brown-affiliated medical students.
- Opportunity to precept Physician Assistant students during clinical rotations.
- Contribute to education and mentorship activities within the department.
Compensation & benefits
- Base salary range: $225,000–$325,000 plus RVU-based productivity incentives.
- Three-year employment agreement.

Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
- Fellowship training in Glaucoma required.
- Rhode Island medical license required (eligible or active).
- Massachusetts medical license preferred.
Location
- Primary practice in Providence, RI with surgical duties at Providence and Attleboro, MA centers.
