Locums Cardiac Anesthesiologist — Miami High-Volume Cardiac & Diverse OR Cases, Consistent Schedule

A premier Miami healthcare system seeks a Locum Cardiac Anesthesiology physician to provide hospital-based coverage across multiple perioperative service lines. This role offers a high-volume, varied case mix, predictable scheduling, and a collaborative, fast-paced clinical environment.

Schedule and Logistics

• Monday–Friday with rotational weekend coverage
• Shift options: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, or 7:00 AM–7:00 PM (shift end aligned with leaving order)
• Minimum 20 shifts per month
• On-call and weekend responsibilities required
• Multi-site coverage with consistent workflows
• EMR: Medaxion

Clinical Case Mix

• Primary service lines: orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN
• Additional procedures: urology, GI/endoscopy, ENT, spine, cath lab/CVL
• Required cardiac experience: CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, MitraClip, LAA ligation, and electrophysiology cases

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical procedures
• Perform preoperative evaluations and manage post-anesthesia recovery
• Monitor intraoperative physiology to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, CRNAs, and perioperative teams
• Accurately document all patient care in the EMR

Qualifications

• Board certified in Anesthesiology
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration
• ACLS and BLS certification
• Demonstrated experience in cardiac anesthesia cases
