Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) — Willing to Train — Rapid City, SD

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Neurosurgery team in Rapid City, SD. Open to experienced providers and new/early-career APPs; comprehensive training provided for candidates with a strong clinical foundation and interest in surgical care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hospital rounds, consults, and post-operative follow-ups under neurosurgeon supervision
• First-assist in neurosurgical procedures in the operating room
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures within scope of practice
• Manage clinic patients including pre-op and post-op evaluations and conservative treatment
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, surgical care, and follow-up
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, nursing, and other specialists to coordinate care
• Accurately document all encounters and procedures in the EMR
• Participate in shared team call coverage

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
• Current or eligible South Dakota license
• BLS and ACLS required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, hands-on environment

Preferred

• Prior surgical or neurology/neurosurgery experience (not required; training provided)
