Job Description
Join a compassionate, multidisciplinary team at a community cancer center in Rutland, VT where your work truly matters. You’ll be part of an integrated, patient-centered practice that delivers high-quality oncology care across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and telehealth settings. Our current clinical team includes two physicians and one physician assistant, and we’re looking for a motivated NP or PA to join us.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex medical and oncologic needs across multiple care settings.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR.
- Participate in quality improvement efforts and help refine care processes.
- Support on-call coverage: no weeknight calls and one weekend on call per month.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- No weeknight call; one weekend per month on-call
Key skills we’re looking for
- Solid clinical judgment in assessment and management of complex conditions, ideally with oncology or internal medicine experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including excellent documentation and reporting.
- A collaborative approach and a focus on continuous quality improvement.
- Comfortable using technology, including EHRs and Microsoft Office.
Compensation & benefits
- Competitive salary range: $120,000–$160,000, commensurate with experience

Minimum qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or graduation from an accredited PA program
- At least 2 years of clinical experience as an NP or PA; oncology, internal medicine, or related experience preferred
- NPs: Vermont licensure and national board certification (ANCC or equivalent)
- PAs: Vermont licensure and NCCPA certification
- Unit-specific certifications as required (e.g., ACLS) and completion of de-escalation/restraint training when applicable
