Emergency Medicine Physician (Independent Contractor) — Aiken, SC (Hospital & Freestanding ED)

Team

• 16 emergency medicine physicians and 9 advanced practice providers.
• Mix of recent graduates and experienced clinicians; collaborative environment.

Facilities and Volume

• Medical Center: 273-bed community hospital, 30-bed ED, certified chest pain and stroke center. ED volume: ~43,000 visits/year. Physician coverage: 39 hours/day; APP coverage: 30 hours/day.
• The ER at Sweetwater (North Augusta, GA): 10-bed freestanding ED. Volume: ~23,000 visits/year. Physician coverage: 24 hours/day; APP coverage: 12 hours/day.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide full-spectrum emergency care at both sites.
• Participate in hospital committees (credentials, sepsis, peer review, medical executive).
• Maintain strong consultant relationships and work with supportive administration.
• Teaching opportunities with APP students and internal/family medicine residents.
• Manage all aspects of community emergency medicine while collaborating with colleagues.

Schedule and Employment Model

• Independent contractor.
• Full-time minimum: 120 hours/month.
• Flexible scheduling.

Compensation and Incentives

• $300/hour (day); $325/hour (night).
• $75,000 sign-on bonus available with full-time shift commitment.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine with Emergency Medicine experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
