Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Englewood, FL

We’re looking for a flexible, experienced Emergency Medicine physician to join a busy Emergency Department in Englewood, FL, on a locum tenens basis. This role requires the ability to cover day, night, and weekend shifts in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

The ED sees about 20,000 visits a year and operates with 24-hour physician coverage in 12-hour shifts. You’ll have support during high-acuity situations—phlebotomy is available during surges, sepsis or stroke alerts, and difficult cases. The facility also offers advanced imaging (MRI, CT, X‑ray, ultrasound) and on-site lab services to help guide timely diagnoses and treatment.

In this role you will:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Use imaging and laboratory results to inform clinical decisions.
• Document patient encounters promptly and accurately, following facility protocols to maintain continuity of care and compliance.

Preferred qualifications:

• Board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with at least two years of recent Emergency Medicine experience.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Active Florida medical license and DEA registration.
• ACLS and PALS certifications are highly preferred.
